Title: blockbuster weirdness
Post by: SirPoonga on March 23, 2006, 11:30:36 pm
ok, get this, I have 4, YES 4, movies from blockbuster online.  One is not one I wanted.  North Country starring Charlize Theron (hmmmmmm).   ???
Funny thing is one of hte envelopes has a stamp (not prepaid) and return address is to a store in Grafton, WI (not my usual Minnapolis, MN).  But it was a hard to find movie, King of Comedy starring Stephan Chow.  Do that's understandable.

It's just odd, North Country isn't in my queue or list of movies I have out.  I might hold onto it for awhile and see what happens when I send the others back.

I generally have about ten movies at a time out from BB online.

That's because blockbuster is using more of there stores to fulfill orders for online customers. So more than likely They just put the movie in the wrong shipping envelope. Off topic but how are shipping times ? They gave us a free month use when it first came out but it took 3 to 4 days to get the dvd's. So I just stuck to my 5 a week.

I usually get mine within two days.  Three once in a while.

I ever stop work for this company I would probly get the in store pass. Because here  in Jacksonville there is one just down the street from where every you live. Hell there used to be 3 on one 10 mile strech of road .

The in store pass is only good for the 3-4 titles they keep in stock at any given time.  Their online selection is huge.

I really do not watch as many movies as I use to. It would mostly get the used by my wife and kids and as far a new release title since I have work for this god awful company for almost 9 years now. I can get them to hold the title for me. But this all dependent that actually leave.

yeah, read the next two sentances, basically what I said.  It was a hard to find movie.

that's not the weird thing though.  It's weird I have 4 out as I ahve the 3 at a time deal.  And North Country doesn't show up on my list of movies (and I did not add that to my queue). I don;t know what will hapen if I don't return ot or if I do return it :)

Did you get the King of Comedy starring Stephan Chow also?

Yeah, that was on my queue for quite some time.  Like I said, it's a hard to find movie which is why they sent it from a store.  I mentioned it as this shipment of videos is full of weirdness.  This is the first time I had something not sent from minneapolis.

To sum up for everyone.  2 odd things that normally don't happen.  1) got a movie from a store instead of the online hub in minneapolis, to be expected for hard to find movies. 2) more movies than I am suppose to have, one not being on my list whatsoever.

If they came from the same store then human error so you probably have a free movie. Since there is now way they know you have it. Just to check I haven't use online in awhile. Does it tell you what is checked out to you?

Yeah, all my movies come from minneapolis.  North Country came from there.  King of Comedy came from Grafton, WI.  I know this because the shipping label says King of Comedy (I originally didn't look at them carefully).
Only the three in my list of checked out: Three Amigos, Four Brothers, King of Comedy.  Never put North country in my queue, no inkling to even watch it, even though Charlize is in it.

So as I see it Blockbuster doesn't know I have North Country.  So that brings up some questions.  What if I never return it? Will everything work as usual?  What if I return it, will they realize the error and not send me the next in my queue?

I don;t know what will hapen if I don't return ot or if I do return it :)

Nothing will happen.  I have a stack of like 30 discs I never returned and my membership is still fine.  If it shows up as being a disc out, then go into your queue, click Report DVD Issue or whatever that link says, and report it as "I returned the DVD but it has not cleared my queue".  Blockbuster online never verifies that, they just send the next disc.

Chad it is people like you that make me have to work twice as hard at my job. You stick to BB-----BB sticks to me by cutting hours and wanting more out of the hours thay give.  :police:

Not that my job is that hard in the first place and the fact that I really don't care that you have thiry some odd disc from bb online.  ;D Just imagin if they still charge the $70 it cost to replace NR VHS that would be one big ---smurfing--- bill. :o

I'm sure it kills them financially when I never get around to returning a beaten up DVD of a 5 year old movie.

So, all 30 of your stolen DVD's are beaten up 5 year old movies?

Mostly, yeah.  Primarily WWE discs.   I don't get many big release movies.  Not my style.

So that's why they never have any wrestling DVD available on the site. Chad is hording them all. As far as the beat up disc what do expect customer do care cause it not theirs and not to mention how many the postoffice cracks.

I know more than one person that snaps every other disc they get and puts the pieces back in the envelope, though, just to be jerks.

Note I am not one of them.

I think Blockbuster should make a commercial.
Have a native american man( who is not native american) walking past people snapping dvd and mailing them back with a tear coming down his face. Then a message say stop hurting the dvds

Atleast they are sending the pieces back, you're not even doing that... >:D
