OK, I've started work on my Metal Gear themed side-art, and it's coming along pretty good so far. There's still some stuff i need to figure out, but as for the basic idea I've got it pretty much figured out. I'm going for a sort of "movie poster" style image of Solid Snake, with the original Metal Gear on a rocky hill in the background. Currently I have it in a daytime setting, however I may change it if I decide that's what's best.
I've also considered adding some foiliage rather than just leaving it as a barren gravel terrain. As you've probably noticed, Snake doesn't have full legs, but that's because I'm not planning on having the art go down the entire length of the cabinet, but rather cut it off with some kind of border (if you've seen the original Metal Gear box art, that's a similar example of what I'm planning). There's still a lot of work to do, but I'm getting there!
Feel free to give me any comments and suggestions you might have! :)

really astounding.
just a remark, why did you stop the ground backgroung to the solid-snake shoulders, did you plan to continue it, or just let it like that ??

I'm planning on either continuing it, having something else directly behind snake like a crumbling wall or something. I haven't decided yet.

I like it, but you gotta lose that lens flair.

Yup, I already recieved a complaint about it when I showed it to my brother, so I quickly removed it. Other than that I don't have a whole lot to report on the poject status, but I did manage to add the stripe I had been meaning to put in.
I'm also probably going to be adding a crumbling wall behind Snake, as well as some vegitation to the background like I had originally planned. I don't know how long it's all going to take me, but it should look good when it's all done. :)
