Title: intentional screen burning
Post by: USSEnterprise on March 23, 2006, 12:22:27 am
For reasons I will not release, I want to burn an image into a 15" computer monitor. Any estimates on how long it would take, assuming the computer and monitor are never turned off? I want medium to heavy burn in.

A few months usually.
By cranking up to full brightness you could maybe cut the time down to a few weeks.

I would think that if you made the image white on a black background this should expedite things as well but I could be wrong.

It took at least a month before I burned in my first arcade monitor, bad thing was I didn't mean to do it.   I left my WG9200 on with the computer off and the "NO SIGNAL" message burned in to the screen.  The box cycled through different colors but the results were very noticable.
