Title: Console Netplay
Post by: Franco on March 21, 2006, 05:04:31 am
Think I must have been living in the dark ages for years as I have only just found out about retro console netplay. (i.e not PS2 and XBOX)

Me and a friend had an absolute blast on DGen netplay last night! I cant beleive how easy it was to get running either!

Is ZSNES netplay as playable in regards to game speed/lag etc? I have found a tutorial (http://www.fantasyanime.com/emuhelp/emuhelp_zsnes.htm#netplay) which I am going to have a go at tonight but I just thought I would ask you konsole kings if you have any other recomendations for console netplay, either for the SNES or other retro consoles?

Thanks

While I've not had a chance to ever try it myself, I've never heard a single complaint about ZSNES' netplay in the various play requests that pop up in other forums.  I've been dying to try it out for years.

I have only played zsnes a handful of times, but it seemed to work fine.

I used to use kaillera to play MAME online.  There was a popular east coast server that I had a 20 ping on.  I used to play a lot of Street Fighter againist strangers.  It was great fun, but sadly the server disappeared.

I actually played snes9x on a mac vs xsnes9x on the xbox when I was setting up my xbox for my cab.  Not that I'd do it often, but it sure was cool.  heh.
