I just ran accross the PowerMame website today and it looks very cool. 8)
One question about using PowerMame with Mame...
Do I need to be running the same version number as Mame?
(ie PowerMame version 104 and Mame version 104)
or can I use PowerMame version 104 with my Mame version 97 or 101?
Thanks, Alex

Do you mean with your .97 or .101 rom set?
-
I am using Version 97 as of now.

I almost forgot, Where do I place the files from the zipped file? Do I place them in the Mame folder or ?
Thanks, Alex

Dang, I hate when I think I answer my own questions... *lol* :P
Okay So I'll probably have to wait till I upgrade to 104 or 105.
Thanks, Alex

upgrade what? your roms or your mame? Power mame is the emulator your roms are the games.

Dude, powermame replaces mame.
1) rename your MAME folder to something else, like MAME.OLD
2) Create a new folder named MAME.
3) Unzip PowerMAME into your new (and empty) MAME folder.
4) Follow instructions for regular MAME, only now you'll be using PowerMAME.

I found that when I tried to use the rom files for version 97 they did not work (only a handful did work if that). You will need the rom files that go with the version of Power Mame you are going to use (ie: using PowerMame 104, you need the rom files for 104).

This will work with mamewah, as powermame is only adjusting certain internal features of mame that would have no effect on mamewah. The only thing that would be different is if you have 49 ways and sir poonga's software. You wouldn't need to have mamewah call on it anymore for autoswitching, as it would be a built in feature of mame now instead of an external program. Otherwise, nothing in mamewah would change.
