Title: Mamewah Kenga Fusion question? Video issue (fps but no picture)
Post by: haldir on March 13, 2006, 03:07:13 pm
I checked the forums and did not find an answer, So here goes the question.

I have kenga fusion up and running in mamewah where the game loads and exits just fine.

Now I don't get picture or sound, but the FPS is running the corner so I know it brought up fusion.

I am trying to figure out if it's the INI or a setting missing in fusion.

here's my ini:

Your emulator commandline needs to look like this:

c:\fusion\fusion.exe "[rompath]\[name].[romext]" -gen -fullscreen{nodosbox}{nosafelaunch}

Yours seems to be parts of two pieced together.

Thanks so much for the reply :)

However, it still did not fix the problem so it has to be a setting in fusion.

I'll start diggin..

No luck on settings inside fusion. The only thing I can think of is it may be a resolution issue?

Does it work OK when opening a game within Fusion (ie not via Mamewah)?

You could try using {safelaunch}, *if* this only happens when launching from Mamewah...

Thanks for the reply minwah :)

Yea it works just fine if I run Fusion by itself. Only when it runs through mamewah.

 c:\fusion\fusion.exe "[rompath]\[name].[romext]" -gen -fullscreen{nodosbox}{safelaunch}

I ran it with safe launch and I'm still getting the issue. It runs just fine when I play fusion itself. Any other ideas?  :D (this is so stupid )

This needs to be some minor oversight. MANY people use Fusion with MameWAH and I have never seen an issue. Post your ini file again and also a clean Mamewah.log file.

I have a feeling that it might be the "- gen" area of the INI. Reason being the software loads just fine in mamewah but the game won't load. Options while in fusion work as well (region, hard reset....etc) so I know that the software is not locked up.

OK. You are using 1.61. I think your problem is that you have duplicated the executable. You specify it as both the "emulator_executable" and again ont the "commandline_format" line. This is wrong. I forget what is right but know that is incorrect. Set yout "emulator_execitable to whatever the path to fusion.exe is. Something like so:

emulator_executable        c:\fusion\fusion.exe

and your "commandline_format to this:

"[rompath]\[name].[romext]" -gen -fullscreen{nodosbox}{safelaunch}

I think that will do it.

Let us know,
John

So you know, in 1.61, it takes the "commandline_format" and appends it to the end of the "emulator_executable". This builds a string that is sent to mamewah. Yours currently looks like so:

c:\segag\fusion.exe c:\fusion\fusion.exe "[rompath]\[name].[romext]" -gen -fullscreen{nodosbox}{safelaunch}

That is why I replied as I did above. I could see the double executable. You need to remove the "c:\fusion\fusion.exe" (without the quotes) from the "commandline_format" entry just leaving the rest. I would also change {safelaunch} to {nosafelaunch} and try that.

John

That was it. Simple, stupid on my part, and like they say live and learn.

I can not thank you enough for taking the time to help. I truly appreciate it and all the work you put into this forum.

Thank you so much!   ;D
