I've been looking all over the net for any information of wether or not Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex will have a region 1 release in a single boxed set rather than the 7 "special edition" "sets" which is only the addition of DTS over DD5.1 that the regular edition disks have for $45ish vs. the $22ish that the regulare edition is... What the hecks the point in that anyways? Is there that much of a difference between DTS and DD?
Anyways, that's the end of my ramblings. I'm not a huge anime fan which is the reason I'm not going to go join some anime mssg board and that I've posted this here.

DTS and DD are quite different in that DTS is not as compressed and seems to have a clearer sound to it (if run through a good system).
I would say yes, definitely worth it.

I don't think a box set has been announced. In addition to DTS, the special editions seem to be bundled with stuff like soundtracks and trinkets. I think you can find the special edition for under $30 and the regular for under $20:

I really liked the 2 movies, but I didn't really care for the TV show. I have not watched the second season at all, maybe it's better than the first?
