Spoke POV is an easy-to-make electronic kit toy that turns your bicycle wheel into a customized display! The project includes a free schematic design, open source software for uploading and editing stored bitmap images, and a high-quality kit with all the parts necessary to build your own.

That's actually pretty killer...but would it only work if the wheels were going a certain speed?
-
Here's what the kit website says:
With one spoke, persistence at a speedy 15mph. Two spokes for cruising at 10mph. Three for a leisurely 7mph!

I like to ride my bike in the summer, though... and hate to do it in the dark because of dumb drivers and lack of street lights... this would be cool.
-
You know, as I think about this, you could use this kit for stuff other than bikes... I mean, you want to talk about dudes with badass rims on their ricers... how about this on your Vee Dub?
-
I was thinking the exact same thing. I could put up pac-man and ghosts on my truck rims. Screw those spinners. lol

there was a company making displays like this for fans, the same people that make the budweiser globes that rely on pov
if I can find the site I will update here
-
Cool. Is there on which will diplay a hand flipping someone off? I'd start riding a bike to work for that.

And a great way to make burnouts seem "unAmerican" to try and discourage the young hoons too... :police:
