Ok apparently I am not creating my INI files correctly using the Mame Resolution Tool. I have an AVGA 7000 series, D9200, and mame .103. Would anyone with the same setup care to send me thier zipped ini files with the correct resolutions? For some reason when I generate mine, they are incorrect. Thanks in advance!

If you don't mind me saying I think a better solution would be to try and figure out why yours are incorrect...
Are you saying the resolutions within the ini files are wrong?
-
Apparently so. For example, the resolutions created for galaga is:512x448 and pacman is also 512x448. So it puts a little screen in the middle of my D9200. I haven't identified which ones are incorrect but I know that a lot of the vertical ones are. Is there a tutorial perhaps on how to properly use the Mame Resolution Tool. I feel like I did it correctly, but you know how that goes. Thanks.

In the supplied readme there is a short how-to, which should be OK for most systems. It does assume a horizontal monitor and a few other things, but it should be a good start.

Well just downloaded the program again and did just as the readme says and each time it still generates 512X448 for galaga, pacman, mspacman, etc. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I just can't get it to get the right resolutions! I know galaga should be 288X244, but for some reason the mame resolution tool never puts it there?? HELP!

As I said, the how-to assumes a few things...one of them being that you do NOT want modes with over 256 lines (ie see the bit where I recommend removing those modes). The reason I do this is because on standard arcade monitors your vertical size needs to be adjusted down to fir say 288 lines on. However, this means horizontal games will generally be letterboxed (have borders top/bottom). I do not know if this is the case with your D9200, but since it can store different sizes/positions for different modes probably not.
So, here is a modified how to:
Run M.A.M.E. Resolution Tool,
Ensure the

OK trying again. One line I don't understand:
Remove modes with >256 and <448 lines (these will not fit on your screen),
Remove anything with greater than 256 lines and less than 448 lines? Am I reading this wrong? Is one referencing vertical and one referencing horizontal? Thanks in advance!

Ok, besides the line I didn't understand, I followed your directions to a T, and still got the wrong resolution for Galaga. See screen capture:

Did you try my 'updated' how to in my last reply? I ask because the line you don't understand is not in it.
Edit: also, I cannot see the screen capture very well but it looks like you've removed the 50/51hz modes, which you should also not do based on my modified how-to above.

Yea I followed the updated one, but I thought it only referred to the 2nd half of the readme. I will startover with only what you posted here. Also, if you save the image and view it at 100% it should show up...looks like the board resized it.

Ok this time it generated Galaga at 648x304....is this accurate for the AVGA 7000 and the D9200?

Hi,
I didn't read in details all your posts , but may be you could try to generate your ini files using this tool :

I use it with my ArcadeVGA 7000 , it works great.
