For all you Jakks Hackers - I was at Walmart tonight and picked up a Wireless MsPacman 7-n-1 for $4.88. I included a link to the product at BestBuy. I'm not sure if it's a national sale or what, but it was only 5 bones at the walmart in Glen Carbon, Illinois. The thing uses 8 AA batteries if you use it as is to plug into your television.

Mission, it's because Wal-Mart doesn't like you, even though you're a redneck

No harm, no foul. Just thought I'd mention it was there as well.

I had one in my hands, got halfway to the checkout and started wondering why I even wanted a $5 battery eater like those things. They take something like 8 AA batteries.
I put it back on the shelf in case someone else wanted more than I did. I much prefer the wired versions with the 2 game keys that give you the extra games for $14.88 :)

Does this one not let you plug it in if you buy the power adapter? I could have sworn that most of these plug-in games had a power jack.

Now i'm P$%^@#... I paid like $30 last Sept for one of these at walmart....

I picked up a Jakks power adapter, it slides into the battery compartment.

Does it work in these wireless models?

Oh, I didn't realize it was wireless (I was wondering what that strange little base was). That changes everything. I may pick one of these up and put it in a little portable CP or bartop.

Yes... HOWEVER
the wireless base station requires 4 batteries and the joystick itself requires 4 batteries. You really need to pick up 2 of those power adapters.

I was going to hack a 6V DC 200mA wall wort but I can't find two of 'em for under $4.88. :)
I was originally going to hack it for a bartop and may still... but I'm not impressed with the emulation quality. I'd probably be better off with a P1 mobo and a vertical 15" VGA display. But $4.88 was too compelling to ignore.
The wife was asking "don't we already have these games?" ;D

LOL Good to know I'm not the only one....I built my MultiMame machine first, and every project since my wife has had the same reply as above..... ::)

I love buying a $5 toy that needs $7 of batteries.
