Title: Atari Warlords
Post by: Mikew88 on March 03, 2006, 06:56:51 pm
Ok i still have a major problem with my warlords. At first the screen had extreme jitters....so i got a new capkit and big blue, installed it. And everything was fine..for like 30 minutes. Now the jitteres are yet back again, PLUS the sound is gone, and the paddles dont seem to work like before, when i turn the paddle all the way, the shield jumps from the upper left corner to the lower corner, it will not move smoothly along the path. This is really confusing me right now..now really sure what the problem might be
Any help is appreciated.

Mike

The input and sound issues indicate a "POKEY" chip problem. This chip controls the sound and input on older atari boards. You can get a new one here:

Search for "POKEY"

Good Luck!

Well..you sure it is this chip. Because i just determined that there is no -5 and +12 coming from the audio/regulator II pcb. i would think that -5 drives the sound, and +12 the potentionmeters.
