I have built a mame cab and I'm working on my second but I also want to do a jukebox of some sort next. I like the SK; obviously that's why I'm here, but had a couple of newbie questions. Yes, I have been to the site and haven't found the answers to these Q's some I'm asking here.
Does SK support ripping CDs?
Where do you get the album art from?
-
No, SK doesn't rip the CDs, but AudioGrabber is freeware and easy to use (plus there are many other free cd ripping tools).
I get the album art from BUY.com, Amazon.com or if all else fails Google Image search.
Buy.com has the best IMO, but they changed their site so it's a little trickier to grab the artwork...see this thread:

good luck.

OH CRAP!!! you have to do every cover individually? No one has a repository, like artwork for the old arcade game cabs? Thanks for the info though...

Man, you 're gonna love this program. This automatically goes to all the sites with cover art and downloads them for you. Give it a shot.

WOW, that could come in handy! Watched the flash demo, I'll be downloading that app soon. Thanks for the link...

I just went to amazon and grabbed album covers. Takes 20 seconds a cover or so...

I had another question off topic from the original post. I was wondering if there were any apps out there that will do an album search if given a song title? No for artwork but just to find out what album said song was on...

I have used Buy.com for this before :

Change the Search box to 'By Song'.
Otherwise, just a quick search on Google would get you there.

Is this program Linux only?

NM - I found the version I needed!
This will be a big help, I've been working on a juke project that will be using SK Jukebox as the software. I'll post pics as I get closer to completion.

Skyostil's site seems to be down or gone and I can't find a working mirror. Anyone got a good link?
