Title: Need help on MAME 32
Post by: curt88 on March 02, 2006, 10:17:25 pm
Hi guys.  I have the newest MAME 32 version 104.  I want to know how I can organize my games by catagories.  I heard of CATVER, but I didn't understand on how to use it.  I am also having problems with getting the fourth player on my control to work.  I used A keyboard testing program on it and the buttons along with the joystick are operational.  I am using the IPAC 4 card from Ultimarc.  I have 6 buttons for each player installed on the control panel.  The card supports 8 buttons per player.  Thanks for any help that you can provide, Curt.

Hey Curt... welcome to the boards. I see this is your first post. What you may want to do is create 2 different questions addressing both your issues.

Furthermore - you'll learn that although the community can be very helpful - it is necessary for you to do as much reading as possible beforehand.

Here is a link to spystyle. About 3/4 of the way down he discusses sorting games using sortinfo and catver. It will require you to do some reading, but he lays it out in a very logical manner. I believe if you were to google catver you would've found the article also

As for your other issue - I don't think I can be of much help. You need to provide more information - for example, is mame setup properly to accept inputs from the 4th player? What kind of hardware are you using? I'm sure others will have more questions.

Good luck.

Download cat32 file. Inside archive are ini files. Put these files to folder Folders in your MAME directory.
