Title: Booting problem (Win98 & winXp)?
Post by: ahmer on March 02, 2006, 04:13:00 pm
sorry becoz this section is not for Operating system help. But i am installing mame with a frontend. :)

Unfortunately I have formatted my drive C: so i have lost my Win98.
Now WindowsXP on Drive D: (NTFS) is not booting due to formating C: drive.

I have all my important work in my WindowsXp Partition.

Can any one tell me in detail the Suitable process to recover WindowsXp.

Please help me.... ???

I would install XP on your C: partition, then once you boot up your newly installed XP on C: you will be able to gain access to your D: partition and then you can backup your stuff or copy it over to C:. If you can't access your D:\Documents and Settings\ you will probably have to change the permissions to gain access but you can do it.
