Title: Noob question - How do I fix my coin door
Post by: RickDIII on March 02, 2006, 08:53:11 am
Allright.  I'm getting down to the details on my machine and would love to get the coin door working (of course).  It is missing the metal tracks that route the quarters from the slot to the microswitch.  Couple of questions...  ???

1)  What is the name of those metal slots...so people will at least know what I am talking about.
2)  The only branding on it is CCI.  Is this a common brand?  Can I find parts for it?
3)   Would the tracks be standard, or dependant upon the model?
4)  Would I be better off trying to replace the whole coin door?

Ok, I know thats a lot of questions...but as always, any advice is appreciated.   :)

You have to be talking about the Coin Mechs that snap into place and register the correct coin. It channels the coins from the coin slot to the coin box. Also when you push eject button it expels the jammed or incorrect coin into the coin return. These you can get everywhere, Happs, WICO, Ebay, people here will sell them to you, pretty cheap too. It is best to just buy the Coin Mechs, not buy a whole new door. Most coin mechs will fit most doors. Arcade operators will have spares also if you can get to one, they will sell you used ones cheap.

CC stands for Coin Controls. Its the Brand of coin door you have. Again an extremly common coin door.

Hope that helps,

Deefish,

Yep that helps.  Now I can go over to B/S/T and see if someone wants to offload a couple.  I wasn't sure what to ask for until now.  Thanks! ;D

I've said it many times, but Coin Controls doors are built to METRIC standards. Coin Controls doors only work best with Coin Controls brand coin chutes (a.k.a. mechs). They have been out of the coin door business for many years now. Happ Controls has the remaining new old stock parts for these and their stock is very limited.

Ken,

So am I looking for any Coin Control chutes, or do I have to figure out exactly which model my door is?

Thanks,
Rick

Any Coin Controls coin chute will fit Coin Controls doors.
