Post by: Havok on March 02, 2006, 08:38:48 am
Everybody is making spinners now..

Enough!

Start making Star Wars yoke repros!!!

(Of course, Randy is probably 90% complete with his, and it will interface with the LEDWiz).

Just kidding, although I was thinking of making a prototype a few weeks ago, looks like the market is suddenly flooded.

Then is this the wrong time to announce my SpinMonkey™ budget spinner?

Locking grips and a center button for Spy Hunter would be nice too. ;D

Thing is, there's GOT to be a way to make CHEAPER spinners. $70 is steep IMO.

You could Get Nasty!  (if you have an old HD and a bottle of Nestle's Quik handy).

I was literally a day or two away from investing a bunch of money to do just that.  Suddenly, the spinner market became very volatile, so I'm not risking my capital.

Maybe when things stabilize and people decide what they want, but not now.

But the thing is, if you offer the best, AND it's also the cheapest price, then YOU will win the war.

If I didn't have a SW yoke I'd probably agree.    :P

My big wish is for either a Tron joystick or a restrictor I can put on a xenophobe joystick.  All I want to do is play the light cycles stage.  I'm still on the lookout for a paperboy yoke too anyone gonna repro those?    ;)

Best and cheapest are, except in rare instances,  contradictory terms.  You can offer the best or you can offer the cheapest.  Everything else is somewhere inbetween.

Until I can figure out where the market is pointing in that line, it's unsafe for me to make major investments in inventory.  Therefore, price reduction would not be possible.  So all I can do at the moment is just "stay the course" until a direction becomes clear.

At my signshop we use the following addage....

Inexpensive
High Quality
Quick Turn Around

Choose 2

Of course I don't think that will work for the spinner market.

But heh the amount of time it has taken to see a repro StarWars Yoke could be a good thing.... On second thought.
