I used the patern of some user like "Motorfish" and "GSXRMovistar".
There's 2 version, a normal one and a streched background one. Which one do you prefer?

I took out the grid, my girlfriend says that it look better this way :)
What can I change? some advices?

In My Opinion (take it or leave it), the stretched BG version looks MUCH worse (you know earth is SUPPOSED to be round)
Other than than, I think it looks Great.. I wouldnt' change a thing.

I agree. Allthough the starfield stretching the entire length of the image is nice, earth just don't look right when not round :)

So if I keep the non-streched one.. what should I put on the side? Nothing? A lens flare? some pics of games?

What about stretching the starfield and leaving the earth as it is? Or maybe lens flare or something to fill the black void. I think game pics might clash.

Yeah, game pics would clash. maybe you can "cut out" the earth, then make your own background that is the proper size, then paste the earth back on top of that?
-
you can always go to the nasa site and steal some pretty cool space images there. I did this and I used the noise funciton in paint shop pro to create a starry background. It came out pretty good as long as you don't mind a black background. I've changed it around since but this is basically what I have. http://web.syr.edu/~zfrockwe/logo.jpg (http://web.syr.edu/~zfrockwe/logo.jpg)

I tryed to strech the starfield only and it look like crap. :-\
So I put some lens flare, see and compare ;)

Why not stretch the picture in both the X and Y directions so that the earth remains round, and then cut off the top and bottom of the picture?
