Post by: 2PacMan on March 01, 2006, 08:16:24 am
Anyone have a Mario Bros PCB for a nintendo unisystem upright?  Or a Castlevania or Gradius PCB?

Are you looking for Super Mario Bros or just Mario bros. Because SMB is a set of roms like Gradius and Castlevania where as Mario Bros. is a 2 board set.

IF you are looking for SMB hen ask the guys at RGVAC. Thats where I got mine. I paid $20 for the rom set with marquee.

I'm actually looking for regular Mario bros, not super mario bros....but i noticed that the Mario bros is a 2 set board...will that work in a generic unisystem cab w/o doing some mod work?  I was looking for something that i could just plug and play. Is there a difference between a  Mario bros board from a dedicated Mario bros game and a nintendo unisystem board with Mario roms on it? Right now i have a unisystem board with a "vs. goonies" daughter card on it which is not working.  Do you have a link to that RGVAC board?

Just use Google groups. Rec.Games.Video.Arcade.Collecting is the full name.

I have a DK Jr. and a Vs cab (red tent), but I have never tried swapping the boards. I have never seen a Vs. board with Mario Bros roms on it. I believe that Mario Bros is strictly a 2 board whereas Vs. Unisystems are a single board. I sure the guys at RGVAC would be able to tell you if it is possible or not.

Guess that's what i need to find out...if it's possible to just swap a 2 board Mario Bros PCB in place of a single unisystem board with no extra adjustments.  Thanks for the heads up, i'll see if they can help me over there.

You can do this but you will have to change the main wiring harness to a vs harness.
I converted another Nintendo machine to a VS & had to do this.
Everything else is pretty much the same.
RGVAC is the best place to ask around for that sort of stuff.
Good Luck
