'Fraid I'm useless on the 49-way stuff if it's the DRS switching. I've got the first-gen GP49s, that don't switch except by hardware.
edit- Oh, you put it out already. Duh.

Kremmit, How did you end up switching your modes? Was it the rotary switch? I too had the first version but was using an 8 relay board connected via parallel port. Randy sold me the replacement chips and I cut out the old ones, soldered in sockets and replaced the microcontroller with the new ones so I now have USB switching. If you want computer control, I have an extra relay board now ;)
Anyways, really just wondering what you went with.

I have one of the first ones, too, and I simply got the upgrade chip from Randy... I didn't have to do any soldering, though.

I'm super lazy. I'm still using the button method. :P
I never bothered to spring for the upgraded chip, as I eventually intend to use these in a dedicated Mutant Storm cab. They'll likely be 'll be set to Raw49 mode all the time anyway, so what's the point?
