Title: snapping, arcing with megatouch
Post by: markymarky99 on February 28, 2006, 02:32:30 am
i picked up what i thought was a nice megatouch 8000.  After playing for a bit, the screen started to snap and shake.  I looked in through the back and I can see a spark from the very bottom of the SUCTION CUP of the anode to the metal frame.  Any ideas what might be causing this ?  as always, thanks guys!

Condensation under the anode cap.

also make sure th anode cap is securely fastened to the tube--if its loose or not fully clamped in you can get leakage.  You might also have some dirt or build up that is conducting juice out from the anode cap--keep in mind you will have to discharge it to clean it thoroughly in that area.  Don't let it arc for too long or your tube will get etched from the arcs and potentially ruined.

And make sure the touchscreen ground wires are connected. Also make sure the machine has it's power cord ground prong intact.
