I'm trying to build an arcade. LOL obviously. I've been talking to Howard C on IRC he says I should buy a chasis and just get a monitor from a busted tv or something and add that. Well I don't knwo what chasis I should get I saw a few on ebay, but I don't knwo what they can or would go to or work with. Any help would be much appreciated or If you knwo where I can get cheap arcade monitors with chasis's that would be cool too. thanks oh yea one that'll work on 20 inch monritors or so. thanks.

You'd want one of the "universal" type of replacement monitor chassis sold by places like 8liners.com , video1963, and Alva Amusement. The 8liners site has some good instructions on what to look for in a tube and yoke to match up with their chassis.

I told you he would be quick.

I decided to go with a 19 inch monitor with chassis from 8liners thanks. Also I have another question, will I be able to connect the arcade monitor to my video card or would i need a converter or transformer or something... I asked in the IRC channel and they said get an arcade2vga card, but I don't get it it basically looks the same, it has a vga port so that most likely means the arcade monitor comes with a vga cable? I'm just trying to understand and figure this out cuz I already have a nice video card in the pc and the arcade2vga card seems pretty weak in graphics wise and I just want all of my games to work and run fast. hmm I don't know...

That all depends on what type off games you are going to play. If just Mame and console emus then it doesn't matter how powerful you card is. That's because those emus don't use the 3D acceleration at all.
