I live in Ohio, have hardly any experience with real cabinets, and I pretty much need babysitted.  But other than that, if the price is right, I'll sign up.  I work well from my home.  Also, although I can lift heavy things, I would need an assistant.  What was the pay again? :)

I swear, every day confirms that I live on the wrong side of the US. I could do this job in my sleep, and would be a welcome change from the the regular computer stuff I do now: software deployment, image creation, anti-virus management...

Good luck finding someone - this is definitely the right place to advertise.

Right that does it I am going to leave the UK and move to America.  All the interesting stuff goes on there.

Unless you want to take on a foreign worker :D ?

G'luck with the prospecting

Not to be a pain, but why is it a "Senior Arcade Technician" when pay is "consistent with an entry-level position"?  People need to stop inflating titles...  What's next in their career ladder? Director? VP?  ???

When senior managers  have <2-3 years experience, there is something wrong with the system (this is not necessarily meant as a specific rant against DA, I like what you guys do... but you touched a nerve  :P)

Dang....dang...dang!!! Man, This is exactly the kind of work I'd like to be doing in the place I'd like to be doing it in...just one year too early for me. My bachelors in electrical engineering won't be complete until July of next year!  :-\

Oh well... hope you find some one who would want the job as bad as I would.

Correct, the east coast sucks for anything related to video games. All the studios are located here in California. Why do you suppose E3 is held here? The difficult decision is what part of CA do you settle in? A lot of the studios are here in southern California, while jobs like the above are in northern California.

Dang...I *grew up* right around the Sac/Folsom area...I've got these skills and more and would love a job like that...

...of course, that pay thing doesn't sound too good - I'm a manufacturing technician working in a cleanroom currently and I'd have to say my pay is much better than "entry-level" - unless entry level in Sacramento is > $75000/year??   ;)

Too bad you aren't up here in Washington state. I was senior repair tech for a local game & vending machine operator. I have 30 years experience and I ordered parts, built control panels, did conversions, repaired pinballs/videos/pool tables/jukeboxes/airhockey/cigarette machines/payphones. I specialize in monitors/power supplies/pinball repairs. The operator I worked for had been in business since 1958, but they put a lot of money into those downloading jukeboxes and it put the company under in 2002. I've been out of work for 4 years and scraping by on odd jobs. At the time the operator folded up shop, I was getting $12.75 an hour.

Point taken :) hope you find a good one... If it were me, I'd go for the "Arcade Monkey" title... (or maybe "Sr. Arcade Monkey"  ;D).

On a related note, I did get "Head Geek" business cards at my previous company (instead of Dir, Informatics/IT).  The CEO loved them and wanted me to give them to everyone.  I actually gave one to the company's founder by mistake... he asked for more to give them out to friends...

You have to be kidding. Please, tell me that you are kidding.

They have me scrub dart boards for more than that here in Minnesota.

If you're willing to move to Dallas-Ft Worth and do a little retraining I could probably get you something like double that salary.  I might have to get our current monitor guy fired first.

Seriously, you could get an entry level helpdesk job around here for $15 - $20 an hour. From what I've seen of your posts, you could easily handle that. If you're still looking - try a contracting company, that's how I originally got into IT.
