Title: Older Mame versions

I'm looking at getting an older PC that will not be able to run the current games Mame is able to make playable.  So, I was thinking about putting an older version of Mame in it.  Is there a way to "filter" the Roms from a current rom set so I only load the roms that older version of mame will play?  If so, how?  I know where to get current versions of Mame, but where can I get older verions?

Sorry for the newbie, dumb question.  I appreciate your help.
