Howdy,
Long story short, I bought everything for my 3" trackball from Oscar Controls and my dog ate everything from the 6 pin molex connector to the PS2 connector. I know Oscar Controls doesn't take any more orders, so I assumed that the Happ 3" trackball kit would give me everything I needed.
I guess I was wrong. If I wasn't wrong, I have no idea how this hooks up. Its got no instructions with it other than a few things printed on the PCBs. It also seems to have hook ups for buttons but not for the trackball.
I ordered the http://www.happcontrols.com/trackballs/56011300k.htm (http://www.happcontrols.com/trackballs/56011300k.htm) Kit. I also have searched and googled but don't seem to find anything. Maybe I am searching for the wrong thing and someone can point me in the right direction.
Any help would be awesome.
Thanks,
James

Provided your dog didn't eat the case or anything inside it (like the encoder wheels, shafts/bearings, or the 3" ball) then you should have everything you need.
I don't have that Happ kit but I do have a Happ 3" trackball; I'm assuming yours is a Happ also. If it's not, then disregard what follows because I've never been inside any other brand. It looks like all you should have to do is disassemble the case and pull out the two optic boards that came with the trackball and replace them with the two that came with that kit you bought.
Judging from the pic at Happ's, there's a harness that then connects to each of the new optic boards (4 pin), and then (it's hard to tell from the pic) somehow those other cables can be connected so that ultimately there's a USB or PS2 plug at the end.

The one I have is not from Happ its a Betson 3" or maybe Imperial? I am not positive, it was one I bought when I was first interested in BYOAC about a year ago. It was one Peale offered to me for a great price, as it needed some TLC.
Thanks for your response. I will bust mine open after church and see whats up.
Anyone else know for sure if this kit will or will not work with a Betson 3"?

After taking apart my trackball, one of the PCB boards from the Happ kit fits but the main PCB board is too big to fit.
Anyone know if I am just hosed or if there is something else I can do?
I'm thinking I just messed up and ordered the wrong part.
