Title: Does MS Dual Strike gamepad work on Win2000/WinME??
Post by: unclet on February 18, 2003, 07:46:24 am
Does a Microsoft Dual Strike sidewinder gamepad work with Win2000 and WinME?

This seems like a question I should be able to figure out by myself, but I have tried to find specs online and can not.  The specs only mention Windows98 but I am assuming it should work for Win2000 and WinME but I wanted to make sure before I buy one.  Also, I did read somewhere that the drivers for the Dual Strike mention the drivers do not work for Win2000, but  I would assume other drivers exists for these platforms since many people moved from Win98 to Win2000/WinME.

Just let me know if you have one of these controllers and whether it works on Win2000/WinME.....thanks

Win2000 is not WinMe, Winme would likely use a win9x driver where win2000 is more likely to use a NT/2k/XP driver.

Did you go to Microsofts page to see if there is a driver?

I know Win2000 and WinME are different but I have two computers (one using each OS) and I am not sure which one will be connected to utitlize the sidewinder dual strike gamepad.

As for Microsoft drivers, I went to the site and could not locate any but probably just could not figure out where to look.   Just would like to know if drivers exist before I buy the gamepad for a Star Wars yoke hack....  :>)

PS:  If you find drivers, can you send me a link.....thanks
