Title: Black Drop Ceiling tiles?

Anyone know where to get ahold of black drop ceiling tiles? Either with or without decorations? I have searched all over the internet and noooooooooo dice. Thanks for any help

People generally just paint them.

ummm really? Doesn't it make the panel get all cakey cause the fiber absorbs the paint?

Don't think so.  They're tougher than they look.

Besides, you don't want to drown the things in paint, just skim the surface.

Look at my gameroom pix in the arcade misc thread -- painted drop ceiling tiles...  You want to paint them *before* they're hung so that you don't end up with strips of white when tiles shift/get bumped.

Thats all I did was painted mine. And you want them flat cuz the shiney ceiling thing doesnt look right.

They make colors, but they're ridiculously priced, and I don't recall seeing black.

When I say ridiculously priced, think three times the regular price - and that's IF they have enough in stock for you.

Using a compressor and spray gun will work the fastest and give you the thinnest coat that covers.  Spray a primer first to help.
