Hello there folks!
I am using Mame32 Plus! 0.104u2 and having issues when loading NBA Jam, NBA Jam TE, NBA Hangtime, and some other games (I tryed to run once and now forgot what games they are).
Well, it loads the game, all roms are there, goes to the OK screen, I hit OK or move joystick left and right and it just brings me back to the Mame32 Plus! menu again.
Strange thing is that when using different versions of the same build (Mame32 FX 0.104u2, Mame32BR, etc) and the very same rom path the same games (NBA Jam, TE) work like a charm, so I assume there's nothing wrong with my rom set.
Is there any one suffering the same with Mame32 Plus! 0.104u2?
Just for the record, I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 and Direct X 9c on a Sempron 3000+ 64bits - 512 Mb DDR.
Thanks for all the help!

Just tryed running that NBA Jam serie on Mame32 Plus! 0.104u3 and the same problem happened. The game is loaded, appears the OK screen, hit OK (or left and right) and it brings me back to the emulator menu again.
Another question: I updated my Rom set. It was downloaded almost 3GB of data I was missing, totalizing 15.2GB on my rom folder, but when updating the emulator (mame32 plus! 0.104u2) I only have 5941 games out of 6082.
Is it because I don't have the CHD files? But CHD are 83 games, so I am still missing 58 or these are also related to CHD games?
Using Mame32 FX 0.104u3 is even worst. From the 6034 games total available are 5716 a 318 game miss...

Clrmamepro is telling me I still miss 496 (231 nodumps) of 88151 roms.
Missing 917Mb of 49GB...

Just would like to know it anyone is facing the same situation as I am with Mame Plus!.
I believe I am suffering it alone, would like to figure out why is closing the game when using the same files with MameFX works perfectly...
Thanks in advance.

This will depend on where you got the dat file to use with clrmamepro - generate it from mame plus or download it from somewhere.
I always had issues when using a rom manager and auditing roms with mame32. clr would say I had it all, mame32 wouldn't like some games. I would suggest removing comments in your post about where you got your set, needless to say it would be complete as they don't generally upload without it being correct.
Have you tried running nba jam from mame itself - the plain old command line version?

First of all, thank you cdbrown! (it rhymes!) ::)
I generated the .dat file using Mameplus itself. I will also trying using a .dat file provided from the same folks I'm downloading from.
Running nba jam from the plain old command line version crashes the game as usual (only Mame Plus!, other mame versions play the game normally, either win32 or dos command line).
But at least I received an error message:
-----------------------------------------------------
Exception at EIP=103BA6F6: ACCESS VIOLATION

D:\Games\Arcade\MamePlus>
I will try to figure out what it's all about.
Thank you again!

Didn't find info on the problem yet. My lack of knowledge really makes things even harder...
Would apreciate if anyone could help me.
Thanks!

Yes!
Updating mame32 plus! to version 0.104u3a fixed the problem!
Maybe it was related to this fix:
fixed crash in the following drivers: midyunit.c, midxunit.c, midwunit.c, midtunit.c
Anyway, thanks cdbrown for the attention and help.
