Man, I'm having some MAJOR issues with my keyboard encoder.
First off, I have an IPAC from ultimarc I got 2 years ago. My cabinet has been sitting in the garage, unfinished since then. Rcently I started to work on it again and pulled the controller into my office and hooked it and the trackball to the PC. Trackball works beautifully but there are issues with the controlls.
I launched the included software to map out the controls. All seems fine until I try to upload them to the encoder. I get an error that the connection failed. I tried to play SFII and in the middle of the game the joystick controlls flipped on their own. Up became down, left became right... I downloaded the updated software from Ultimarc's website and get the same errors...
I am seriously thinking of buying a new encoder...
What should I do?

Double check your settings in WinIPAC... make sure it is set for correct interface USB or PS2...
Also lengthen the timeout to as long as possible... I had timeout problems with mine most of the time.

I checked the connection, it's PS2.
I'll check this evening to see what the timeout is set to...

I also remember I had to reboot at least once during the whole experience as well. It didn't work the first time either.... but eventually it turned out well.

After all this if you are still having issues, contact andy at Ultimarc. He is usually great with help.

Usually I would call for help but the first ipac I had was dammaged in the shipping over here. He sent a replacement and I don't want to bother him again... COurse, that was 2 years ago :P
