Title: Which 27" Monitor?
Post by: spllbnd2 on February 23, 2006, 02:13:20 am
Well, it is almost that time... Time for me to buy my Genuine Arcade Monitor.

But I have seen so many reviews (good and bad)  ;D for both monitors.

 So my question is,

Which $500 arcade monitor would you buy and why?

Also, as of today I am unable to get onto Betsons website.

Thanks,
  Alex B. / spllbnd2

Ask the guys at Betson if they will sell you the 27" multisync for $425.  That's what they sold both of mine for.

Penn-Ray has extended the sale on all Kortek brand monitors until the end of March. They have the Kortek 27" multi-sync priced at $425.

Betson's (a.k.a. 'Imperial') multi-sync is a Kortek monitor.

Well $425 would still be a kicker if I ended up tossing it for another monitor after a month, due to malfuntions. I read on these forums of a handful of people having problems and they went out and buoght the D9200.

Which monitor has the best support and has been out in the industry the longest?

Thanks Alex

Which of the two had the most problems? Well the D9200 wins as the one with the most problems.

don't forget to consider the wei ya monitor from billabs (check out the billabs thread)
capable of higher resolution (which would be good for the vector games)
also has a flat tube (not good or bad that its flat, just making a note of it.)

I will have to agree that the D9200 is plagued with problems and I would rather go with the Kortek. Wasn't the D9200 monitor that came free with the purchase of a Golden Tee Golf kit?

Yes I do believe the Golden Tee golf kits came with the D9200.

So next question is where do you buy the Beston?
(I can buy the D9200 from wells gardner direct) But the Beston website is no longer working.

Funny, but the www.betson.com website works for me perfectly. If you are having troubles getting to it, the Betson phone number is 1-800-524-2343.

The Betson/Imperial/Kortek/Penn-Ray multi-sync 27" monitor is the same monitor and as I mentioned earlier is still on sale at Penn-Ray for $425.

I've had a Betson 27" up and running for a year without a problem.  I recently bought another one and it also worked great right out of the box.

Well I did get onto the Beston website finally  ;D Thanks. Also, what is the web address for the Penn-Ray company?.
And has anyone had to get tech support on their Beston monitors and if so was it fairly cut and dry?

Thanks for all the help and advice. Everyone is always so helpful here. ;D
