Well since AtomSmasher was showing his off here's my non mame project. Just finished my poker table. I made it so I could flip it horizontal and slide it against the wall if I need the space. Part of the wife acceptance factor. ;D

Nice table. I like how it folds up. Did you do the leather and foam work yourself or have an apolsterer do that part?

Thanks. Did it all myself. Building an arcade machine gave me the confidence to build something else.

I purchased pedestal bases from Adam's wood. I don't think I could turn legs like that. ;D

And the cost is about the same (STOP SCREAMING AT YOUR MONITOR AND READ THIS DISCLAIMER!) if you're looking to build something as basic as those cheap ones
Go check out that forum he linked to for his project breakdown, and you'll find SCADS of links to other places where you can find plans and whatnot.
To answer someone's question, if you check out that forum, you'll see that having an upholsterer do the vinyl and felt work probably wasn't the route he took (I'm guessing, but still...) and it's easy enough for you to do if you follow any of the step-by-step directions on any decent project website.

Scott Keen's site rocks for info. I'm mid-way through 2 racetrack tables right now. Wife is screaming cuz she can't use the garage and it's frickin' cold!

Yes Drew I did the vinyl myself. That's probably the hardest part. You better have an electric stapler and even then your hands will be sore for a week from stretching the vinyl. I say if you can build an arcade machine you can build one of these. Believe me when I say that I'm no wood worker. I've done 3 projects in my life, my arcade, my bar, and now this table. I guess I should have taken shop instead of calculus in high school. ;D
I actually had someone here at work offer me $1200 for the table. I think I spent about $550 in materials $200 of which was for the pedestal bases. Metal folding legs cost about $20. I did go with high end on the vinyl, suited speed cloth, and jumbo brass cup holders. You could actually build something similar for less. I think I'll keep it though and build another one for this person.

Times I've smacked my head because I wished I had more shop-type-skills: lots.
