Computer Help, for people with computer woes, and people asking "What can I run on this computer?" as far as games and such. Seperate all that from EE and the Main Forum, and throw it in its own place.
-
I think that they are just fine in the EE... gives me a chance to read something that isn't political.... well that is until the mac and linux fan boys jump in....

Having a computer forum to go to without Drew or MC doing some sort of horrible thing in our mouth would be great.

There's TONS of those out there. An ARCADE forum is a different story ;D
Suck it, Trebek! :P

It would be good if any of the elder statesmen made a sticky that could inform people of the base requirements for versions of mame. So for every PII question pops up, they could just take a gander and see what they can plan on.

Mebbe you could add it to the Wiki? Take a gander at it when you get a chance.

they don't do searches, what makes you think they'll read stickies....
-
Because then we wouldn't have to do so much work to help, we can just say, "read the sticky ::)"
-
"use the search" requires less typing :-*
-
So oes miselling tings
-
damn now you figured me out Drew

Ghaw, I thought I put a wink on my last post. Sorry wasn't trying to sound like a richard cranium.
Suck it, Trebek! :P
dat wuz funny.
what if we could get Saint to add a tick box when people sign up that says...
Please if you come here with an issue, please search first. Do you understand?
[] Yes [] no
If they click yes they are in and we ridicule them for not searching.
If they click no then we send em on their merry way.
Also, instead of just giving the answer, perhaps just ask...
Ben Dover
"How do I hook up my joystick?"
You
"did you search for the answer".
Ben Dover
Um... no.
You
Um... Piss off then.
A note about searching though. There have been several times that searching has not turned up good info. I would try several different ways and not get the results I was hoping for. There are also times where new technology has occured and a fresh debate is a good thing as it sparks new ideas.

It's in the Wiki, noob ;D
It's almost as much fun as saying "SEARCH, DAMMIT!"
;D ;D ;D
-
I can't make the search-a-majig work very well either. I think it's most likely operator error.
