I'm in a holding pattern on the contruction of my first cab while I wait for my house to sell. Since I can't do any construction, I'm gathering parts, getting software all tweaked just right and, germane to this post, trying to get the artwork in good shape, inc. the control panel overlay.
I'm using the Lusid plans from the Project Arcade Book, as I'm sure many of you have done yourselves. Does anyone have a full-size template for the control panel that has the "standard" project arcade controls -- two 8-way joysticks, 1 4-way, 7 buttons each player, trackball, spinner and start-up/coin-in/admin buttons -- that corresponds with the Lusid dimensions? Preferably in Photoshop or Illustrator format, but .jpg or whatever is just fine as well. The templates from the CD included with the book don't have the controls on there.

I recommend making your own using the templates from the book and photoshop (just combine the blank CP template and the button and joystick templates)

I think one thing to remember is that the nut that holds the buttons on are larger then the button itself so don't put the buttons too close to the edges or too close to a joystick.
Just a thought, but resizing the CP image from the book thats on the cd (chapter 6/Color_Figures/Figure6-12.jpg) to 4312 pixels by 2502 pixels should be pretty close to the right size.

You know, I tried doing that working at full scale, and the button sizes on the templates didn't appear to match the stated size -- they appeared to be bigger. Not sure why that would be -- do the templates reflect the size of the nut rather than the size of the button? That might explain it...

No, I'm pretty sure they are the size of the button, the same size as the hole you would drill. I made my CP using the templates, then made my CP overlay on top of it so I knew where everything would be

It's a little late for a response but in case someone was searching as I was...
In photoshop for example Go to image resizing, turn OFF resample, and set resolution to 125 pixels an inch :)
