Title: Problem with Trackball and 49-way Joystick
Post by: arzoo on February 18, 2006, 10:26:00 pm
Hi All,
I've just hooked up my 49-way with GPWiz and I find that some games which use the trackball seem to have problems when the joystick is enabled; the cursor will pin to the left. I've read a few other posts about this problem and it seems that the solution is to disable the joystick for each game individually. Some trackball games work fine (Centipede, Marble Madness) and others don't (Missile Command, Millipede). I'm just wondering if anyone knows why this happens?

You don't have to disable joystick support.  What you DO need to do is go to the game and when it's running hit the TAB key and go to INPUT (THIS GAME).  Move down to Track X Analog and hit ENTER.  Roll the trackball left and/or right.  That should set the value to MOUSE 1 X.  Now move down to TRACK Y ANALOG and hit ENTER.  Roll the trackball up and/or down and it should set the value to MOUSE 1 Y.  Now go to Track X DEC and INC and Track Y DEC and INC and hit ENTER then ESCAPE for each one.  That should set those values to NONE and you should not have the 49-way and trackball competing with each other.
