Title: Marble Madness....any way to make it easier??
Post by: AE35 on February 18, 2006, 09:33:45 am

Hi all.

My wife and friends love Marble Madness, but it's a bit too hard! We're
talking 3-4 leves, that's it!! >:(

Is there any way to make it somewhat easier? a hack with ten extra
second would be great ;D

Thanks,

Nicholas

Not an answer for you, but an additional question.  What kind of trackball settings do you use for Marble madness?  I haven't ever been able to get my trackball working well for it.

I have my settings under analog controls set to (X and Y Analog: Speed=45 and Sensitivity=45).

I'm not sure if both speed and sensitivity need to be at 45 and I'm also not sure if these settings are even close to the original, but it seems to play good for me.  I'm using a Happs 3" trackball.

I had played Marble Madness on NES before I played it on the arcades
I honestly prefer the NES version best.
also you can add genie codes to the NES  ;)

If you haven't already tried it, give Hamsterball a go.

Under the tab menu, I maxed out the mouse sensitivity.  It takes a little bit of the "madness" out of spinning the trackball while playing.

Also there is a dip switch setting for difficulty in the Tab menu for MM.  However, I found mine was already set in easy.

Someone said they prefer the NES versions of games....  I find arcade titles were designed to bring in revenue and are all overly difficult.  The console titles are far more entertaining.  Conversely, puzzle games benefit from the added pressure in arcade format.

Thanks!

Hey, what version is the best? and how many are there? I saw the NES version, didn't look very nice graphics-wise...

...or a way to get extra time on the arcade.

IMHO, this is what makes MM one of the best games ever.  Are you playing 2 player?

I think the game only has 5 levels....

We used to play Marble Madness 2 ways

1. Full blown cut throat first one to the end wins! (can't really go that far that way)

2. Co-op. 1 person always gets 2nd place to give the other player bonus time. This can mean an extra 15-20 seconds for the winner.

It's still hard! Great game though...
