Title: Does anyone use jum52 for Atari5200 emulation?
Post by: unclet on February 17, 2006, 09:14:48 am
I am currently trying to get the M.E.S.S emulator configured to use Atari5200, but I am slowly getting frustrated (I have other posted for this ...)

I am not  interested in knowing whether the jum52 emulator for Atari 5200 works nicely or not.   I am also interested in whether it allows the ESC key to exit the program so it can be used nicely in MameWah.

I does not seem any new versions of jum52 have been made for about 2 years now ... so I was just wondering whether it works well.

<EDIT>   Does the jum52 emulator even allow command line input?   Also, the author "James Higgs" seems to have disappeared...... should have left his source code available  <EDIT>

I would stick with MESS. It is quite cabinet friendly with the controller system. There is a small learning curver but its not too bad. Find the mess bios, I believe it is a5200.rom and place it in the /mess/bios folder. Then in the software folder, create a folder named a5200 and place all your roms in there. As you know, you can check my ini files on the CPViewer website for the proper launch parameters.

Good Luck,
John

I have emailed you the correct bios files for mess. Simply set up as John detailed and it should launch without problem from the commandline or from mamewah using his ini's.
