Hey guys,
I really want to play some Japanese PS2 games. I'm dying to get my hands on Battle Coliseum. However, I have no idea how to mod my thin PS2 so that it can do it. Anybody know how? I hear that a boot disc and tape is involved?
Thanks!
ps. I don't want to play copies. I want to be able to play import titles.

There is a pack of 3 little plastic pieces that you can install on slim PS2's which allow you to use the swap discs to load up games.
Other than that, you can try to do it yourself with tape and that deal, but I'd get the kit personally... its pretty cheap.
or you can have it modded with a chip.

Do you know where to find the chip or the discs? Do they have a name?

There are a lot of different modchips out there. Crystal, Matrix Infinity, etc etc.
Modchip.com calls the plastic pieces "Magic Keys" but I think I've seen other names for them. A google search for "PStwo mod chip" should bring up a lot of sites that sell them.

That's the first one I found with a quick search.... please note I have no idea if that site is any good.

If you deicde to go with Swap Disks, this is a good sight to buy from. It's called a Ghost Switch.

The actual swap disks are more exspensive than buying the mod.
I purhcased my PS2 cover form them, they are legit. ;)

Here's another safe site to order from. I've ordered 4 times from them and every thing went smooth and was shipped fast.
