I own a Rom set for the Atari2600. Every file in the set is ZIP'd and inside is a file with extension a26.
The z26 emulator seems like they want a BIN extension instead.
I searched on BYOAC forums for this answer and it seems someone said they simply renamed it to BIN and it worked, however, that is not working for me.
- I tried renaming the ZIP file to BIN and that did not work
- I tried extracting the a26 file and then renaming it to BIN and that did not work
- I tried extracting the a26 file, renamed it to BIN and then reZip'd it back up to a ZIP file and that did not work
The Rom set I own is the "Good Set" so I am sure other people must be using these as well.
Any help would be appreciated.
I am using the hacked version of z26 from jcrouse's CpViewer site.

Ok, it seems i fI extract the a26, rename it and make sure the filename does not have any spaces in it, then it will be recognized by z26.
What a pain ..... there are plenty of these Roms to be renamed and to remove spaces .....
Does anyone have any idea how to perform this task nicely?

It doesn't matter about the spaces. What you need to do is unzip all of the files then delete all of the zip folders.
Download the batch file renamer from here. CLICK (http://www.cerebralsynergy.com/download.php?view.55)
When you open the renamer, first point it to the directory with all your unzipped files in.
Next click on the extensions tab.
Select change all extensions to and type a26 into the box next to it.
Click start at the bottom and it will rename all file extensions to .a26, takes about 10 seconds.
