Title: Question about computers
Post by: Rok on February 12, 2006, 01:08:23 am
Is it possible to use my main desktop to run MAME in a cabinet? Can I run a comp > TV cable to the cabinet and do something with using it as a secondary monitor? Just curious before I got bargain bin browsing for a cheapy computer to put in a future cabinet.

You can buy a video card with svideo out and add it to your main computer.  Then run that to your tv in your cabinet.

I use my main computer as a home theater pc with that same setup in my back bedroom.

*edit*  You also gotta remember that your gonna need to run the controls for the control panel back to the main computer and that can be a mess depending on how your setup.

The Keywiz is PS2 only.  The GP-Wiz (gamepad instead of keyboard) is USB.  The Ipac is PS2 or USB.

Ok, so would I be able to just unplug keyboard/plug in Keywiz and then MAME it up on the TV as a second monitor in a cabinet?
