Guys,
Anybody know of a good utility to search your mp3 collection and sort it by bitrate so I can delete all of my low quality tracks??
Cheers

iTunes will let you sort by bitrate.

I installed Itunes and although I can sort by bitrate, I cant seem to delete the files, only remove them from the library. Anyone know of an advanced file searching util that could help me??

I don't use iTunes much, but I'm pretty sure there's some way to get it to delete the original file as well.

Yeah... when you select files, there is a box that comes up that asks if you are sure if you want to remve the files from the library.
Select yes (or whatever it says).
Then a second box should come up and ask what you want to do with the files. Default is to keep them. But you can select "move to recycle bin"
Hope this helped.

Ta for the tips. It only seems to work if the files are in a specific directory. I needed a search faciility across the whole drive with an option to erase from multiple folders.
I installed advanced mp3 catalog pro, it seems to do the trick.
Cheers again.

It'll do what you want to do. It might just need a little coaxing.
But no matter... you got something that works for you.
I like the iTunes cause I use it for my iPod.
