Title: Quick question on contact paper
Post by: danger_crane on February 10, 2006, 09:45:45 am
Hey all,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a wider roll of black contact paper? I'd love to get my hands on an 24" or 30" inch roll and all I've found is 18".

Thanks!

The site talked about MARBLE contact paper.  If he finds something to cover his cab without a seam and can manage to put it down without bubbles, you'd NEVER know the difference if he didn't tell you.

Read what he said.  BLACK contact paper.  How would you know the difference between that and paint if you were looking at a picture of his cab?  You wouldn't.

The description lists it as a vinyl facing, which is what many original cabs used.  The popular Happ black pica vinyl product is just a contact paper/vinyl product with a nice finish.  The key to apply it is to have a nice mirror smooth surface on which it will be applied.  That will take some preparation work.  Any irregularities in the wood will show through the contact paper/vinyl and look horrible.

As previously mentioned, as long as there is no seam and it is a quality product, it should be fine.
