Slow going due to time management.... however she's moving along steadily.. :)

I am awaiting a new computer work station to commence my work at the moment.
Should arrive tomorrow....I also have the Donkey Kong Junior Bezel somewhere too. I may ask someone to confirm colours on that one as there seems to be two versions, one maybe a clone the other official.
-
i have a dk jr bezel, post a picture and i'll tell you if it's real.

OOOOOooo! Really?
Can you take some scans or photos so I can colour match?
That would be a great huuuge help!

There's no rush at the moment, so not to worry if you cant do it straight away.
Thanks for the help!

Ad_Enuff,
Here's a picture of my bezel, if you need a close up or something, let me know.

Thats for that, it maybe fine for colour matching.
Its certainly different to the one I have, the blue background for instance is much lighter.
So it was wise to check.

spriggy,

Unfortunately.... going very slow. Time management has not been my friend recently. Regardless, doing my best to get it finished for you.

Hey,
I have a DK3 Control Panel, in great shape, collecting dust in my basement. I bought it thinking that it was the same as a DK Panel, and I could just put a new CPO on it for the restoration, alas the hole pattern is different.....
If anyone could use it just PM me an offer.

Alright.. been a while... why? .... http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=59953.0
Anyway... A techie friend of mine tried to recover data from this drive when it first happened..without any luck. In coversation with him the other day, he started testing some new software he had, on the drive. Looks like the drive came to life for a short period, before it failed again. In the mean-time, he was able to recover alot of my family snaps AND some of my old arcade stuff... including some AI (Adobe Illustrator) files for the DK3 CPO and my MAD PLANETS BEZEL!! The recovered MAD PLANETS BEZEL was my last file but the DK3 CPO was an early version of the vector trace.
Regardless, if a compitent vector tracer would like my AI files to complete the DK3 CPO.. give me a hoy!! I'm still not ready to come back yet.
PS The trace is at a fairly early stage... but a good start. I'm at work now, so I'll post a jpg of it when I get home.
Cheers

To bump a SUPER OLD thread..........
Does the DK3 art exist in vector ?
I'd like to get the bezel, CPO, and marquee images for an iCade project.
I can certainly make the iCade template available to all when done.
Any help would be great.
Thanks all

Looks like you might have to create a log in and I believe pay a donation but they have a lot of artwork for any arcade. And if you ask me $10 is worth avoiding the headache of trying to create the artwork itself.

Nice to see my hard work on peoples website for payment. I did the forensic restoration and Zorg did the Vectoring. People should make donations to MAME for new boards to be purchased rather than myself or Zorg. We make artwork for retro arcade classics to help preserve them, not profit from them.
-
I've dealt with Zorg in the past, and Zorg is amazing.
Such an awesome service he provides to all of us in the arcade world.
Zorg has been fantastic.
Sadly people do take advantage of the hard work of others, passing things off to make a buck.
I guess even I am guilty of this, as I do Mala layouts (custom) using sites like Arcade Art Library.
** However I do make layouts availbe to all for download **
I'll keep looking for the DK3 stuff.
-
One thing to keep in mind is that that much server space isn't free.
As I understand it, Joymonkey is just trying to cover CoinopArt's hosting and maintenance expenses to keep these files available for download.
If you want to stop people having to pay for your files, you can upload it at the Arcade Art Library. :dunno

That's not your work... that's a full size TIF scan of DK3 from the CAG artwork that JoyMonkey and company got together to purchase. The $10 goes toward hosting costs. It's a service for people that want to be able to restore their original cabinets. Has been since 2007.
Plus, it would be impossible for anyone to make any money off of your work correctly, because you never released anything you vectored, or anything at full print size. Even I only ever got the 4000px version of anything you cleaned up. Anything full size you've worked on since I've known you sits exclusively on your computer. If anyone is making money off of MAME artwork that you cleaned, they are taking the MAME version and blowing it up full size, so it's not as good quality as it should be.
Since we're on the subject of DK3, though, this is in the note for the MAME artwork:
- (Unknown means) bezel provided by Ad_Enuff
What was the original source? A scan? A photo? Who provided it?
A lot of the other first MAME artwork files are noted that way (1943, Donkey Kong, etc.). If I was to post a list here at BYOAC, would anybody be able to provide that info?
