Ok, I went to my first ever "super-auction" today and scored a fairly nice 19 inch dynamo cab for $10.
I got the thing home and plugged it in and got a nice blue monitor screen without flicker and movement.
I have no sound whatsoever or indication that anything is working.
Is there anyway of knowing if my monitor is working at this point?
I want to buy an arcadevga card and Mame this cab but I dont want to spend the money on the arcadevga if the monitor is bad (if I replace it I'll replace it with a Wells Gardner U3100).
Any opinions here would be helpful.
Thx,

Does it have a game board? I wouldn't expect to see or hear anything without one. :)

Yep, it has a Buster Brothers game board in it.
I have no clue if it works or not.
The test button doesnt seem to do anything.

Make sure the JAMMA harness is plugged into the game board.
Make sure the power supply is hooked up properly and is outputting correct voltage.
Make sure the board is plugged into the monitor.
etc

I've revived many dead boards by cleaning the contacts that fit into the wiring harness. An eraser or light sandpaper does the job.
Beyond that I'll leave the troubleshooting to the experts. :)

To my untrained eyes, everything looks hooked up but bear in mind, that I'm a dumba**.
I guess I'll go ahead and grab an arcadevga card and try to hook a low-spec computer up to this thing to get it running on the cheap.
Those things hard to hook up to the monitor?
I'm used to just plugging in the vga cable on the U3100 I had.

Get Andy's video amp and cable as well. The amp has a Eurpean style terminal block where you screw down the wires from the monitor. You just use the VGA to VGA cable to connect the amp to the AVGA.

Buster Bros. is a capcom CPS1 system game. If all you get is a blue screen with nothing, the board has probably commited suicide :(

Thanks for the opinions guys.
I'll try the arcadevga route and go from there.
Cabinet is in fair shape. No damage, just needs repainting.
Nice over/under coindoor, needs keys.
If I can get this monitor going, I'll make it a horizontal Mame cab.
Otherwise, I have a decased 19 inch monitor without a home and maybe I'll try to get it in there and make it a vertical monitor for the classics.
Thx again,
