Hi, I vectorized an bison image with illustrator with the live trace tool
and fixed the edges with the live paint tool,
I know that an automatic trace tool isn't the best option but I think it is
+- good ;)

short answer, no it does not look fine
it's more - that other thing
-
From somebody who struggles with vectorizing and is not an Illustrator perfectionist, I think it looks OK.
It might be worth you printing out a small section on quality paper (at proper print size), and see for yourself if you are happy with the results.
-
that picutes is already vectored in the library. and the live trace doesnt look good. It needs to be done by hand

you are allowed to think what you want ;)
even beeing non perfectionist, autotracing just produce ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. dot !!!!
it may be usefull for small pieces (when those shapes are small and really intricated, end when it will not denature the whole picture), see the blue shapes on the MadPlanet bezel spriggy is tracing, but for the rest it's useless.

Sorry, zorg
but where are you seeing dots?
In corel the autotrace function generates dots, but in
illustrator the image is all with shapes/vectors depends
on the settings you are using, I don
-
It depends. If you're asking about a realistic job of tracing it's just medium/decent. But if you're talking about a stylized version of a character, I think the Live Trace Feature does a great job. Sometimes doing an adjusted version of a character as opposed to an exact likeness can be a very nice touch for the artwork.

In my opinion, it came out better than expected! The edges could use some work here and there, for example in the chin the different shades op pink don't line up like they should. With some work it might be suitable for what you need. It's the best auto-trace I've seen in a long time.

I may repete, and be more precise.
autotracing produce s h i t. point

even with shapes, dots, what you want autotracing it still huggly.
you prefer spending hours and hours in the front
of your pc monitor tracing pictures
Yes I spend hours in front of my comp tracing by hand those artwork I provided to the comunity.
and as the time is going, and seeing that people are happy with those huggly autotraced stuff I start thinking that I'm an idiot,
but I prefer to go for something clean, and will continue to use my hand as the privilegied tool to trace.
note that I also prefer spending hours in my kitchen instead of going for fast food.

It will always look better hand traced by somebody with skill. This can't be denied. Only a --missioncontrol-- would argue this point.
Lets just agree that the auto trace function creates a different interpretation of the original image.
