Title: page load freezes

i've been noticing a lot of times where i'll click a link in the forums mainly to threads i believe, and the page won't load.  sometimes that ad'll load, sometimes it won't, but the meat of the page, the actual discussion, won't load at times.  i used to think it was my 28.8 connection at home, but it just happened at work with our business dsl.  sometimes refreshing helps.  every once in awhile, that doesn't do the trick.

anyone else having this happen?

thanks...for whatever you may have done...though i can venture a guess:  you changed the ads for me?  i notice a bunch of text ones.

Oh yeah - sorry, forgot to say what I actually did. Switched you to a "text ads only" theme as a test.

cool you got a classic minimal one now... I'll try it out when I get home I wasn't liking the layout of the regular minimal as much

UPDATE:

Saint there is still a slight delay when using the text ads after the google banner pops up... It's not nowhere near as bad as the regular layout theme though...

agreed.  though it MAY be irrelevant now!  word has it, and it's been *confirmed* that ADSL is FINALLY available where I live!  (Adelphia is my cable provider, and they've been bought out or something recently, so cable internet is nowhere on the horizon.)  It's supposed to be coming through UPS as a self install, and ready to activate Friday!

missioncontrol, you have crappy dialup too?  Yours at 28.8 like mine?  Cause THAT'S kickin' it old school!  And I am freaking graduating!

But I must not get my hopes up too high.  Only when that sucker's active will I really rejoice.

Ahh...high speed.  ADSL.

Ok, I've got it, now what do I do with it????

I could've used this years ago when I liked Counter Strike and wanting to link up my consoles and play online.

I'll figure something out...At least now when someone provides a cool link somewhere, I don't have to wonder whether to spend 5 minutes waiting for a few pages to load a bunch of pictures and such.
