Title: Shutdown Wincab with password
Post by: gabypotter on February 03, 2006, 04:14:55 pm
Hi, i'm from Mexico, so i don't speak english very well...
sorry for that, but i hope you can understand me.

i want to put a jukebox in my house, but i don't want that someone can turn
it off by pressing a button, cause im planning to program one key to shutdown
but the key will be visible and anyone can touch it and turn off wincab.

is there a way to shutdown wincab with a password?,
or by pressing a combination of keys like ctrl+alt+del?

i hope you understand me, and give some answers!
Thanks!!!

Ctrl-Alt-End will kill WinCab, but it's not a particularly graceful way to do it.  At this time there is no way to require a password to shut it down.

You could wire two buttons in series with each other so the shutdown keystroke will only be seen by WinCab when both buttons are pressed.
