Has anyone made a CP that can convert from 2 to 4 player?
I'm envisioning something that would normally be 2-player but could then have 2 "wings" that I could snap onto the sides to make it a 4-player setup. I don't think I'd need 4 very often so saving the space would be nice.
I'm not worried about the wiring as but mainly the CP design itself. If anyone knows anyone else that built something like this and has a link, let me know...

Hehe, I don;t like big control panels. hence why mine is swappable. Though I plan on going modular in the future.

seriously. its 5 feet wide. looks like its gonna fly away.
BUT... 3 and 4 are removeable. with them off, its only 34" wide.
it does seem extreme, but i really hate the typical 4P cab angle, with the outside at like 45*. that is excessive and no fun to play IMO. im my design they are standing in practically the same place, but are much more square with the screen.
i dont have pics yet, only maya model shots. im waiting for both my happ stuff and laminate order to get here. the cab is built and ready, its just naked :o

someone wanted to attempt that recently, though i can't remember whom it was and when exactly. i'd say within the last 3 months i remember reading it.

It's been done several times before.
The wings are generally hacked usb gamepad for ease of just plugging them in.

I was thinking more along the lines of taking a standard 4 player setup, but having the end players a bit more out towards the sides (might mean a bigger footprint) and then cutting them off into their own sections. Then using a simple bracket, they could slide back into place when needed and look like it was mostly all one piece.
I guess maybe I'll have to be a pioneer in this if I ever get around to that part. I only have 1 joystick and 6 buttons to mess around with for now but if it all works out OK then I'll be adding more over time.
