Title: Happ Trackball hanging up
Post by: brianv512 on January 31, 2006, 02:11:07 am
I am using a Happ 3" pc track ball connected to the usb port. I first noticed a problem when I was playing Golden Tee. Pulling back for the backswing is fine but when I power thru for the swing there is a delay and when the golfer finally does swing it is not a straight shot. This occurs in several different versions of golden tee. I thought this may be a problem with golden tee but similar problems happen in other trackball games such as Shufffleshot. Any one ever have a similar problem? Any suggestions?

I had this problem and I am now an expert on the subject. The solution is get another trackball, some of the usb/ps2 trackballs are defective. I have found other people with this problem as well. Mine for some reason happend over time. I took it over to someone elses mame machine and it was giving me the same problem. I got a new usb/ps2 trackball and it works great again. I also got the golden tee track ball from happ and hooked it up using an optiwiz and it also works great. Here is the thread to the problem I had it might help you out.   http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=48113.msg466179#msg466179

Boy I hope this isn't a common problem!

While that problem can be a bad trackball interface, like it was for boodroe, it can also be a matter of setting your analog sensetivity correctly.  You might try messing with that before you toss the trackball.
