Title: Cool Guitar Finishes
Post by: JonnyBoy on January 30, 2006, 04:59:30 pm
Hey guys, I'm in need of some cool finishes for a guitar, nothing orthodox. I'm refinishing an old and ugly guitar and I want to give it some flair, I was looking at maybe a texture paint or something that changes colors or heat activated or something. I was also thinking about priming it white and painting just some random designs or something on it. Give me some ideas. Remember, it can't be normal. Thanks!

Jon

Go read the latest issue of "Rod and Custom" magazine.  They have some stuff in there about low cost flake, and some info on a color sensitive clearcoat.  Combine those & it would look pretty cool.

Sand it to bare wood, then use various flavors of Kool-Ade to stain the wood, then clear-coat it.

OH YEAH!
