I've been wondering this for a while, because I've often had the urge to take screenshots of my funny Soul Calibur 2 characters (amongst other things), but I don't really know how to do it. Does anyone here have any advice for how to do it?

A camera would work.. Any film, digital or phone camera would do.

I lay my TV face down on a copy machine, but man I hate having to carry it all the way to Kinkos. ;)

I would convert to video ,
play on PC, pause and use "Snag It"

1) PC capture card. These come in a variety of price/quality combinations. You can pick up cheapy USB ones now that don't work too bad. They're verry laggy, which is no good for actual play, but is fine for capturing whole matches or just stills. You'll need to do some creative wiring so that you can send a signal to both your PC and TV/monitor at the same time.
2) A digital camera with "macro" mode. Keep it steady (ie: tripod, desk, etc - macro cancels out any sort of wobble control or autofocus). Turn the lights off in the room, and turn the flash off. Set it to macro mode (usually a little flower/tulip icon on the camera) and take a photo. Not as good as a direct capture, but the best way to shoot a screen with a camera (this is how the game reviewers of old did it, with proper RGB monitors for nice clear pixels).

I have a $30 MSI TV@nywhere Plus http://tinyurl.com/7n9r5 (http://tinyurl.com/7n9r5) card and it has no lag. I play my Xbox on my PC monitor all the time. Just a suggestion for a low cost solution.

Well, I'm pleased to hear that we're starting to see affordable lag-free solutions hitting the market. That's good news for people wanting to capture games as well as mobile gamers (hotel hoppers, and the like).
