What are you looking to spend for one? These are NOT cheap cabinets in the least. Give me a ballpark figure, and I'll see what I can do.

For some reason that reply made me chuckle and picture some car salesman asking "how much can you afford for monthly payments".

To me, it does not matter what he is willing to pay, either I have one or I don't, and if I do I know how much I want for it and if he is willing to pay that amount then we can proceed with a transaction.  In this case I do not have one so I will move along.

I could not have said it better.

But do either of you have access to cabs like this, even though you may not have one in your collection ? If so, wouldn't you want to know if the person actually has a realistic budget in mind BEFORE you spend time and effort making a deal on his behalf.

The way I read APf's posting is that he is likely able to find one, but the price will be the deciding factor. If chips4sle is as thrifty as everybody else here, it is likely not worth APf's time to even look into it.

Am I the only one who sees the offer to help in there ?

Cheers.

I can see where the other guy's are coming from, but my first read of the request was the same as yours.  See if the guy's willing to pay what they are worth, then proceed from there, otherwise it could be waisted time.

Chuckle if you must.

However, in dealing in old arcade parts, you encounter a lot of dreamers, bargain hunters and flakes. So before I run off and get a price for a dedicated GT Complete or 2005, I want to make sure that he is serious.

These cabs use the new flatscreen monitors and can be hooked up to the IT network for tournament play, so they still make money on the street and they were expensive to buy. I don't want to waste my time for someone who will back off due to "sticker shock" because these machines WILL make a dent in the wallet.

I can assure you, NO collector has one of these cabs in their collection yet (or at least one they want to sell at a bargain basement price), so in order to get one, you will HAVE to go through an operator or distributor (such as the one that employs me). I would make NO profit from the sale of this machine and I would do this simply because I love this hobby and I like to support the users on this forum when I can. But my altruism has limits, as I don't want to do the legwork to sell a multi-thousand dollar machine just for the hell of it.

SO, Raleigh, is there a reason you injected anything into this thread other than to disrupt it?

That one you have listed is a 2000 or older GT.

eagled.com has them and they are in il.

You may also want to try arcadegamewarehouse.com they have them as well and you could probably pick them up at the factory in Schaumburg.

I defence of his comment about wanting to know what one was willing to spend - GT 2005 is a commodity product.  There are "official" versions and there are ones that everyone under the sun has made into a myriad of products using the same kits - different monitors / cab styles etc.

Usually a new one runs about 3,500-5,000 but you can always find used ones from operators who have upgraded to GT Live! and you can then buy the upgrade CD a few hundred.
